Simply In The Now
by : Amritzar
Here is something
for your consideration. We are spirits and as such have an immortal
essence. Immortality is a concept beyond the ken of the mind and our mortal brains.
Immortality has no beginning and knows no end. We are so used to beginnings and endings.
We measure our life with each passing moment -- the end of one moment and the beginning of
another. But time is part of the grand illusion. Einstein has shown that time is not fixed
but relative to other forces such as gravity and speed.
To our immortal spirit there is no time. There simply is. When the spirit is realized, all
other knowledge is also realized. It is keenly aware of every place and every thing in
existence. It is whole and in full union with God. Our words which are symbolic of the
relative world cannot adequately express this. Parables and myths are used in an attempt
to explain it as the mind is more adaptable to such psychological symbolism. Still it is a
limited description.
To be in the now is to be as our spirit nature. No time. No past. No future. Simply
shutting out the noise of the illusion and resting peacefully and quietly in the
transcendent moment. It is a meditative state imbued with a nectar that enshrines one in
bliss. True bliss only comes from one Source: God. When there is union of the self with
the Overself there is bliss. Like dying in the mud and emerging in the flower of heavenly
grace. As Saint Paul says: "I die daily." If you are dead to the world, the past
no longer matters and there is no future to be concerned about. Where does that leave you?
Simply in the now.
