As the days of summer are coming to a close, school is back in session for many and vacations are over, the fall season is at hand. People are asking for that Starbucks fall favorite “pumpkin spice: I guess no matter how much one tries to deny it. It is inevitable that the summer days of leisure and slow pace are gone, and we are heading back on track to the activities of the fall season. This blog post will focus on the many ways to organize your life for the fall season.
When is it a Good Time to Organize Your Life for the Fall
It is always a great idea to start by organizing your home for the fall season. You can begin by clearing out anything that you will not be using for the fall. Now would also be a great time to do a fall cleaning similar to the one done in the spring. It’s Time for Spring Cleaning Once your home is clean and organized, you are in a better position to know what your home truly needs for the fall.
One Way to Organize Your Life for the Fall
A trip to Home Depot or your local gardening shop can add that special touch of fall to your indoor and outdoor surroundings. If you enjoy crafting you may want to check out Michaels and see what they have new for the fall to add to your home surroundings. These are just a few ways to organize your life for the fall season.
The Importance of the Fall Self Check-in
I should have started out with this one first because I think it is one of the most important ways to organize your life for the fall season and that is checking in with yourself. Yes, doing a self-check on the most important person in your life is vital because if you are not good nothing else will be good. Some questions you may ask yourself in this fall season self-check are:
- How are you feeling overall?
- How are you feeling about your relationships
- What would you like to focus on going into the fall season, whether it be for yourself, business or other?
- Are you prioritizing yourself and how can you do a better job of rendering self-care?
These are just a sample of questions you can ask yourself when doing a self-check in. I am really big on making sure you render self -care, long before it was popular. Remember, you can’t give from an empty vessel.
While you are doing that self-check, it might be a good idea to look at your fall wardrobe. See if there is anything you would like to add or give away. Clean out that closet and make room for a fresh new style. Sometimes our moods dictate the way we dress, so it is important to make sure your clothing is giving the best statement about you and where you are and headed in life. This does not mean costly designer wear, nothing wrong with that but the focus is you. How you look also can impact how you feel about yourself.
Meal Planning Changes that Come with the Fall Season
How we eat in the fall is very different from the summer months. The summer months tend to be lighter foods with the emphasis on more fruits and vegetables because they are in season. If you are like me, you may cook less, and the grill gets more attention. In the fall we are back to more heartier meals, and we are also packing school lunches and snacks. If we are not careful the pounds will begin to creep up on us.
The fall can still be a great time to eat healthy by shopping for leaner cuts of meats. I personally love ground chicken as a substitute for beef. I use it in my tacos, chili and spaghetti. You might find that with the fall comes the busier schedule and so any help in the kitchen is welcome. The slow cooker tends to be my go-to. You are able to prep and go and still have a warm healthy meal on those days when you are pressed for time. If you are in need of a slow cooker Amazon has a great one, they sell.
